PRESS RELEASE

Blunk Microsystems announces support for Micron’s ClearNAND

San Jose, CA (February 13, 2012) Micron Technology’s ClearNAND® is a game changing NAND flash with on-chip wire-speed HW ECC and multiple logical units for concurrent program or erase operations. Blunk Microsystems supports ClearNAND with both its TargetFFS® UNIX-like file system and, via the TargetFTL™ flash translation layer, its TargetFAT™ DOS/Win-Compatible FAT file system. Both are high-performance embedded file systems used in demanding applications worldwide.

Using early samples and tech support from Micron, Blunk’s support was developed on a ClearNAND daughter card for Blunk’s ARM9 flash test platform. The software achieves the highest possible performance from ClearNAND’s ability to queue multiple page read/write commands and to perform read, write, and erase commands in separate planes concurrently. ClearNAND’s copy-back commands for moving data on-chip are used for fast ‘dirty’ page recovery.
