About Blunk Microsystems
Blunk has been delivering high performance embedded systems software to customers around the world since 1995. Our middleware components have been used in hundreds of millions of products, in applications including industrial control, consumer electronics, avionics, and more.
Blunk’s focus is on high performance systems software for 32-bit architectures. Our software is highly portable and designed to run on any architecture that has a C compiler and can support 8, 16, and 32 bit integers.
Blunk has had a particular focus on embedded file systems and TCP/IP stacks. We offered one of the first NOR flash file systems and the very first NAND flash file system. These have been very widely used by customers and are continually updated and advanced by us.
Blunk’s TCP/IP stack has been distinguished by its speed, based on a proprietary zero-copy architecture, and was one of the first embedded TCP/IP stacks to support IPv6.
Our development is done using our TargetOS™ Lite, our minimal RTOS, and CrossStep™, our IDE for embedded development. Both TargetOS Lite and CrossStep have a free license. TargetOS Lite and our full featured TargetOS kernel were recently ported to RISC-V.
Blunk has a demonstrated strength in converting complex specifications (RFCs, data sheets, and technical standards) into working software. Blunk has a history of meeting new product and feature requests for our customers. We welcome the opportunity to do the same for you.
